The Public Information & Professional Outreach/ Unity with Diversity (PIPO/UWD) Committee exists for one clear and meaningful purpose: to carry the message of recovery and grow the hands and hearts of those willing to share it. For a more comprehensive description visit our committee page
Roles needing to be filled at this time in our committee are as follows:
PIPO/UWD Committee are always in search of committee members. We work project by project, so members can contribute in ways that matter most to them, joining an initiative that speaks to the heart, or becoming part of the committee and collaborating across multiple efforts. We welcome individual ideas, energy, and service.
Someone to work alongside of the Chair and fill in whenever needed
We have 6 OA Virtual Region Facebook Pages in 6 different languages: English, French, German, Greek, Spanish and Portuguese. At present, we have members who keep an eye on messages.
We supply the content for these pages
During our Newcomer Open House, along with our Welcome Center Newcomer meetings, we have a non real-time Newcomer meeting on WhatsApp.
A SOCIAL MEDIA (FACEBOOK & WHATSAPP) COORDINATOR: Someone to oversee the 6 OA Virtual Facebook pages and coordinate those doing service for social media (Facebook & WhatsApp). Work with Digital who puts up the content we make.
GRAPHIC DESIGNERS: We need members with a love for Graphics. They will be making flyers for events or images for our Facebook pages that will go with the content that is written for the 5 Facebook pages posts. Knowing another language may be an asset but not needed. We work with Language services for all translated content.
CONTENT WRITERS: We need members to write OA Content for all 6 Facebook pages, along with the two events we host. Knowing another language may be an asset but not needed. We work with Language services for all translated content.
SOCIAL MEDIA SERVICE MEMBERS: During busy times (convention & Newcomer Open Houses) we need extra members to help reply to messages on all 6 OA Virtual Facebook pages. We also need members to monitor the OA non real-time Newcomer meetings on WhatsApp during Newcomer Open House.

*If you are part of a registered OA Group, Intergroup, or Service Body that is affiliated with the Virtual Region and are guided by our 12 Steps, 12 Traditions, and 12 Concepts of Service, you are welcome to host a newcomer meeting. Unaffiliated meetings considering affiliation with the Virtual Region are welcomed.
WELCOME CENTER SERVICE TEAM: On October 24 & 25 we will need service members who are able to fill positions of Host, Co Host, Greeter & Security-waiting room roles for our Welcome Center Service Schedule

To serve in any capacity for the Virtual Region you need to sign a service agreement.
If you haven’t signed up for PIPO/UWD or Newcomer Open House service in the last 30 months,
please do.
