I. Preparation and Compliance

• Pre-Session Materials (Crucial for Interpreters):

• • Please provide any notes, outlines, or your actual written material to the appropriate contact person in advance of your session.
  • Literature and Quoting: Please use only OA Approved literature. If you plan to read any material word-for-word from literature or use a full script, post the exact text and any relevant links/citations in the designated WhatsApp group well in advance to help the Interpreters prepare accurately.
• Content Focus: Please ensure your presentation stays strictly on topic and adheres to the stated session title and theme. There is a Solution – Grounded in Recovery (Roots – Speakers, Pathways – Steps, Cultivate – Workshop, Seeds – Newcomers).

II. Delivery and Accessibility

• Pacing for Accessibility: Speak slowly and clearly to accommodate the Interpreters/Readers.
• Sentence Pauses: Intentionally place pauses (space) between sentences and paragraphs to give the interpreters time to process and deliver the material.
• Acknowledge Interpreter Signal: Be aware of and watch for the interpreter’s visual or audio ‘slow down’ signal and adjust your pace immediately.

III. Virtual Environment & Etiquette

• Sharing Visuals (Optional): If you choose to share live pictures (printed or held up on a cell phone to the screen), the visual background must be disabled to prevent interference and maximize the clarity of the image.
• Sharing Contact Information (Optional): If you are asked to share contact information and wish to do so:
  • Do NOT say your contact information out loud during the session.
  • Provide the information only to the Chat Monitor, who will then handle distribution if appropriate.
